No. Southeast Academy is relocating across the street onto the main JGHS campus at 13520 Shoemaker Avenue.

No. The transition is relocating the physical space of the school, but the integrity of the program, including the unique cohort model, where cadets have mostly separate classes will remain the same.

Cadets will still have access to JGHS athletics programs, AP courses, dual enrollment courses, CTE pathways, and other elective courses with the general JGHS students as they do now. In addition to the courses offered at Glenn, cadets will also have access to Community Schools, GEAR UP, the Wellness Center, and Margaret’s Place, which are all housed on the JGHS campus.

The difference is that they will not have to cross the street in order to participate in these courses or to access these shared resources.

Yes. The structure of Southeast Academy will not change.

John Glenn High School has several facilities that would serve cadets for these purposes. The location for morning formation and afternoon Military Physical Training will be part of the Transition Plan. While there are several options, it is important that our SEA staff and cadets have significant input into this decision.

No. Cadets will continue with the current schedule and routines. The Southeast Academy bell schedule already aligns with John Glenn High School.
 

The official relocation date will be determined and shared with the community following the completion of the Transition Plan which is expected to be shared on Friday, April 18, 2025. (There will not be any changes this school year, 2024-2025).
